Check payout-country support

Official information

OpenTrain publishes a payout-country list. If a country is absent both there and in payout setup, it says it cannot currently pay into that country.

This concerns bank payout availability, not citizenship or permission to join every project. The list is dated 1 May 2026; check the linked current list and setup.

Pay

Funded milestones and approval

Payment terms

OpenTrain’s direct contracts use employer-funded milestones. After the agreed work is submitted and approved, payout starts to the contributor’s connected bank account.

Daily payout scheduling follows approval; bank and country processing times vary. Contract amounts differ. External job-feed listings follow the external platform’s payment rules.

Stripe-hosted bank payout setup

Payment terms

OpenTrain uses Stripe-hosted setup for payouts to local bank accounts in the countries on its payout-support list. Contributors do not need to create a separate account on stripe.com.

The list concerns payout support, not project eligibility. If a country is absent from both the list and payout setup, OpenTrain says it cannot pay out there.

Identity verification and work location can differ

Worker report

In August 2026, a Trustpilot reviewer disputed cancellation after identity verification. OpenTrain replied that the project required work from certain countries and that account sessions outside them caused a separate location-compliance concern.

One contested account with a company reply; neither party’s records were independently inspected. No country list or platform-wide rule is inferred.

Contrasting payment and support accounts

Accounts cover July–August 2026

One July 2026 Trustpilot reviewer described regular payment and good communication. An August reviewer praised workflows and support; another alleged approved work had not been paid. OpenTrain replied asking the latter to contact support and saying completed work would be compensated.

Three self-reports. Trustpilot says the company invites reviews; the complaint’s resolution is unknown.
