MTurk's worker FAQ says it does not support US persons residing outside the United States, in its answer to a US citizen living abroad who sees Tax Status Not Supported.

Payment terms

MTurk permanently closed on 30 September 2026. Completed and approved HITs follow normal payment schedules. Requesters can award bonuses and approve or reject completed HITs until 30 October 2026; if no action is taken, the HITs are automatically approved.

Workers can verify payment preferences, including a payment method and transfer schedule, in the Worker Portal until 30 October 2026. Later payment updates require Customer Service. Transaction history remains available until 28 January 2027.

Before closure, MTurk requesters set each assignment’s reward, with worker earnings paid in USD. Remaining completed and approved HITs follow the normal disbursement schedule after the 30 September 2026 closure.
